Hi All,
Thanks for downloading this Header.
I have two Folded, 1/2 Wave Dipole antennas for 2 Meters (144MHz).
These antennas are mounted for vertical polarization.
The one comes with a horizontal boom of about 1 Meter long for fixing to a
vertical pole, and the other has a cast/aluminium horizontal boom of about
300mm long. (not round, but cast with gussets etc.)
Question:...
Does it matter how far the antenna is mounted from a pole?...
Does the pole affect the antenna?.
Is there a minium distance between antenna and pole?.
Both antennas are factory built jobs, although one's dipole part is
thicker than the other...maby it makes it more broad-banded?.
I use the one (Thinner one) for Packet and the other (Thicker one) for 2
Meter voice.
I have no problem with the Packet signal, also ok with the voice one...just
wanted to know about the antenna/pole distance.
Cheers and "Totsiens"
