I have had two digi cameras but have not struck your problem Ian. I would
say it is a fault. However I don't know that particular make or what cost
you were looking at.Mine were Sony (the first) and the present model is
Canon.

Since then I tried to take apicture of a long lost friend in a fairly well
lit pub.
The flash went off but no picture was taken. I switched off then, as I
wanted some sort of record, I switched back on and set it to the 'movie'
position.
It took a nice, 20 s movie with sound, quite sharp and clear,I only risked
20s as I wasn't sure if it would do any more. I could have taken a minute
or two.
In answer to the question. It is an Oregon 'Scientific' PV100. It has, as
I said, a 1700mAH rechargeable LiIon batt which is what I went for. Cheap
at UKP 69.99 or EU 100.
On the short fim, my friend is telling me he has just bought a Polaroid
Digicam, also quite cheap and has np problems.
As far as I know, they are both made in P.R.China, despite the name:-)
When I go on holiday, I will keep my Canon Sure Shot, just in case. Flash
never flattens it. Thanks all.
