Hi Dick and readers,
Either you live in Fantasyland or South Africa, haven't quite figured it
out. (;->) You outlined totally unrealistic conditions and/or
expectations in the US, here it's "Welcome To The Machine" with apologies
to Pink Floyd. Just do as you're told, when you're told and as you're
told to do it without expectation of praise and when you fail to meet the
boss's expectation, watch out. Oh, the most important point is keep your
mouth shut! The squeaky wheel doesn't get the grease (the boss does) but
rather is replaced.
Stress is to be expected which is why sometimes employees "go postal"
meaning they start by shooting the boss and the rampage goes from there.
You think I'm joking? Not one bit, my tongue is right where it belongs,
not in my cheek.
