When you have worked as many stations as I have on all bands 1.8 mHz to
432 mHz, Warren, you can start talking about Faraday cages.
Maybe you were still in nappies (diapers to you) or not even a sparkle in
your father's eye when I worked my first Yank, W6IXK in 1955. I was using
a 6V6 final amp running 2 watts with a piece of wire thrown out the window
while I was on holidays and portable. I was crystal locked on 7.140 and
fortunate in that the W6 was calling CQ on that frequency. I still have
his card here.
