Sometime I heard that static damage could be a factor with floppies, so
whenever I take one somewhere in my pocket or send one through the mail, I
wrap it in aluminium foil. So far, no errors with foil wrapped discs, but one
or two errors with non-wrapped ones.

A few weeks ago a friend visited me and spotted a floppy with foil around it
and commented that he'd heard of that too.

(Of course, SCANDISK helps to recover floppies with bad sectors, but you tend
to lose some data in the process.)

73, David.
