I accidentally turned my TV to the BBC tonight and saw the end of the - so
called- Eurovision Song Contest.
My mind went back 50 years to when it was all started by a tiny island
called the UK and the connection was all by radio waves.
Countries which are being classed as 'Europe' were firmly behind the Iron
Curtain back then, some were part of the USSR/CCCP and others were classed
as the Middle East, like Israel.
The sangs are still as bad.
More seriously, we have seen news programmes about voting on the EU
constitution.
In one scene, in France, we saw posters saying "Votez NON a l'EU Turque!"
Nobody translated them.
I was once all in favour of a united Europe but that was before the
expansion and the possibility of another which would bring in all those
Mid East countries.
I don't care who wins the Eurovision Contest, Je m'en fous mais J'espere
que L'EU ne va pas inclus certains payees.
To the French, I would say give them "null points".
