I wonder just how many organs have actually been hit by lightning? I
imagine the structural damage to the building housing the organ would be
quite significant.

If you mean damage sustained by a lightning induced spike on the mains,
that's something else again and is likely to affect more than just the
organ.

Speaking of organs, we had a guy at the electricity authority for whom I
worked get between one phase of the 11kv and earth. He lived but the
internal damage was enormous and he never worked again.

He was working from an all-steel (i.e. not insulated) cherry picker and
reached out to grab our earthed (southern hemisphere version of grounded)
33kv line. Nobody noticed that the elbow of the cherry picker got tangled
up in the railway's 11kv system and the bucket in which the guy was
standing was alive at phase to ground voltage (about 6.3kv).

See how easy it is to change the subject :-)
