The Swan 350 transceivers had a Jones socket on the rear, to which the
power supply connected via a multicore cable. This cable carried mains
voltage to the on/off switch, and HT of 900 volts DC.

There was no hard-wired connection between the two chassis, the ground
connection depending totally on the integrity of the pin and socket.

If the ground wire became broken or the pin became loose, the transceiver
chassis, microphone, and morse key would all become live at 900vdc with
respect to ground. Even worse, the antenna and its cable would become
live, a hazard to children.

If you own one of these transceivers, or any similar type that relies
totally on a plug and socket ground connection, please bolt a heavy wire
from one chassis to the other. A wingnut at one end will allow quick
disconnection when you need to move the items around.
