Andy , You come to the conclusion that 32mV equals abt S9 + 56dB ; that is
correct.
However 60 dB is 4dB more than 56 dB and those additional 4dB can only be
achieved by increasing the voltage from 32 to 50 mV ;it is as simple as
that.
Voltage ratio being 50 /32 ,results in a power ratio of 2500 /1024 = 2.44
log 2.44 equals 0.39 Hence 0.39 Bell equals 3.9 dB or 4dB.
A few dB change results in quite a large change in voltage.
