- Central Highlands ARC AGM Weekend
The famous and popular Central Highlands Amateur Radio Club AGM weekend 
will be happening at Lake Maraboon Holiday Village, approx 25km southwest of Emerald,
from 2pm Friday 27th to 10am Sunday 29th September 2019.
Some hams and support crews will be staying a bit earlier or later at the fabulous lakeside
venue renown for a great climate, friendly management and buckets o redclaw for the catching.
The venue is just down the road from the impressive Fairbairn Dam and the local model aircraft
flight centre.
There will be great chances to catch up with hams and support crews from all over the country
who attend to get involved the only fundraising awho attend to get involved the only fundraising activity CHARC has to finance the licencing,
maintenance and expansion of the Central Highlands Linked Repeater System, analogue, digital and APRS.
Experience the raffles, the famous Money Board, gastronomic feed ups (with dessert) and the Mega-Auction 
held in the huge camp kitchen shelter.
Make sure you bring treasure to the Auction and if possible also include a mysteriously wrapped item
for the Mystery part of the auction.

- Clairview Gathering 
The Clairview Gathering is a yearly event where Radio Amateurs meet
at a spot on the coast between Rockhampton and Mackay to relax, talk
radio, re-establish acquaintances and participate in the world renown
Saturday Night Mega-Auction. There might even be some fox-hunting and
there will definitely be RAFFLES ! 
The Gathering is one of the main revenue raisers for the 
Rockhampton and District Amateur Radio Club Inc and
Mackay Amateur Radio Association.

It happens in 2019 from 
Friday arvo 3rd May to Monday morn 6th May.
Those who are keen to chill out completely in one of the most relaxing

- TARC Monster Xmas Lights Tour
Get out your Santa Hats, flashy pins and Christmas Costumes and get ready for a
magical mystery tour of the light fantastic !
The famous TARC Monster Xmas Lights Tour is on again, happening Friday evening December 21st.
Its a Drive Yourself Dazzling Spectacular and all mobile shack chariots will need
to monitor 146.5MHz during the tour to hear instructions from the guide vehicle.
If you do not have a 2metre transceiver in your vehicle - don't worry as a handheld
will be lent to you.
The Tour will start from outside the VK4FNQT Polychromatic Wonder in Mount Louisa, 
gathering by 7pm and then leaving when it is dark enough.
Be sure to pack an esky with plenty of cool water and cool bananas as the tour will be 
happening in a dehydrating climate!
MXLT organiser Gavin VK4ZZ, with help from stage surveyors, is currently plotting 
a way around the City of Townsville (protected by the Powerpuff Girls).

- TARC Australia Day Long Week Family Radio Camp
Happening from Thursday afternoon 24th to Monday afternoon 28th January 20180 at : 
Girl Guides Association of Queensland Campsite and Training Centre, 
46-56 Toolakea Beach Road, Bluewater.

AX4WIT will be on-air from the camp to provide directions and contact. 
Assessors on site for exams and tutoring.

Activities will include:
Cooking of the dampers, scones and other bush recipes,
(bring your camp oven or use the comprehensive kitchen facilities plus bring
your favourite recipes and ingredients),
Raising of the Flag 
(and try to remember all the words to the National Anthem),
Throwing of the Infernal Thong (release that pentThrowing of the Infernal Thong (release that pent up stress!)
Hopefully some Swimming (bring yer cozzies and inflatables for swimming in the Bluewater Creek),
Antenna building and tweaking, balun making and measuring,
Demonstrations and setting up of digital computer modes,
Bushwalking along the well marked trekking trails.
plus much, much more.
Don't get the wrong idea though, this long week will be a VERY relaxing one - 
and its an all-weather event !

Cost of a powered camp site or a bed in Bluewater House is $14 per person per night. 
Day visitors pay $7 per person.
The Leaders Room has been booked by The Master and Romana.
You need to supply your own condiments such as salt and pepper and also bring 
your own washing up detergent and tea towels. 
For those also using the Bluewater House accommodation you need to bring your 
own pillow and linen.

- TARC does the 2019 Defence Welcome and Information Expo
theTARCinc will be involved with the 2019 Defence Welcome and Information Expo
run by the Townsville office of Defence Community Organisation North Queensland
and happening on Saturday 23rd February at RSL Stadium Murray Complex from 10am to 1pm.

TARCadians will be drawing on expertise gained from participation in other Expos
at the complex to show Defence members and their families currently residing
or new to the region some of the aspects of the wonderful world of Amateur Radio.
The club is hoping to demonstrate the hobby through a mixture of static, dynamic and
interactive displays, with members experienced in many facets of the hobby able
to pto provide meaningful answers and guidance for those attending the Expo.

Display will be put in place from 7-30am to 9-30am and packed away from 1pm to 2pm.

- TARC does the John Moyle Field Day 2019
Happening from Friday afternoon 16th to Sunday lunch 18th March 2018 at : 
Burdekin Duck Roadhouse and Caravan Park,
Flinders Highway Sellheim. Phone 07-47873587.

Portable operation is the go so make sure you bring plenty of batteries 
and whisper quiet generators if you can.

to get there:
approx. 111km from Cluden Park intersection Townsville. 
Trundle along the Flinders Highway towards Charters Towers until you cross 
the mighty Burdekin River at the Macrossan Bridge and start to head up the hill to Sellheim. 
Keep an eye out to the right and get ready to turn in to the Roadhouse. 

approx. 15km from the Flinders Hwy Heavy approx. 15km from the Flinders Hwy Heavy Vehicle intersection Charters Towers. 
Trundle along the Flinders Highway towards Townsville. Slow down as you get into Sellheim. 
Keep an eye out to the left and get ready to turn into the Roadhouse..

Upon arrival pull up near the Roadhouse and go in to find out where your site is.

The Park features powered and unpowered caravan and camp sites and it is planned 
to set up the JMFD station in the unpowered paddock closest to Charters Towers. 
The Roadhouse is renown for generous and yummy meals and is also well stocked for 
basic grocery needs. Amenities are good and clean and there is good mobile internet 
access via 4G/3G. 

The Park is situated on the edge of what used to be the Sellheim Army Camp and the 
memorial is within easy walking distance. The Burdekin River is a bit further away, 
a short car ride gets you there really quick.

There are a number of nice high eucalypt trees available to support HF dipoles and the 
site has all weather access. Should we be site has all weather access. Should we be lucky enough to be marooned if the Burdekin River 
floods then we will still be very well off.

Logging for the event will be done by a dude that can type using a 12V powered 
netbook running the latest version of VKCL, there will be lots of antennae lofting 
and tweaking, operating in a location that can be used what ever weather is happening 
plus plenty of chances to kick back and socialise.

The traditional Saturday Night feedup at the Roadhouse will be on again - attendance
numbers needed.

There will also be available on site training and assessment services should you feel 
like getting or upgrading your licence.

Cost of a powered site with 2pob daily is $25
whilst the cost of an unpowered site with 2pob daily is $15
If you are after a powered site or cabin you need to book now to avoid the rush !

Whitsunday Region Endurance Riders Association Inc Euri Gold Farm Endurance Rides.
All the rides happen on the verdant slopes of Euri Gold Farm, just out of Merinda
north of Bowen North Queensland.
You are able to camp out early at Ride Base or the checkpoint from Thursday afternoon onwards.
The ride starts up on Friday afternoon and will mainly run into the evening.
Your chance to get out into some lovely countryside, set up camp with a portable station
or tor three and communicate in a relaxing fashion as the horsies and riders go by, day and night.

Play with radios out in the field to the sound revving engines and tortured suspension.
Operate at Start, Flying FiOperate at Start, Flying Finish and Stop positions using your equipment and skills to
help make this peak autosports event one to remember for years to come.
Glamp rough at the Motorsport Facility or Glamp soft at the well found motel facilities in town.
Set up Saturday morning, competition starts on the two short stages on Saturday afternoon and
will continue into the early evening. Competition resumes Sunday morning on the long stage and finishes 
at lunchtime.

TCAC King Of The Hill Hillclimb on the Mount Stuart Road.
A chance to get out in the field and mix your radio with high speed organized autosports. 
Operators needed to man the Start and Flying Finish positions on the Mount Stuart Road. 
Safety and Time Control communications and your chance to get a CAMS Officials Licence.

Kennedy Region SKennedy Region Scouts Nighthawk activity.
Your chance to make a real difference and show the youth of today how useful
Amateur Radio can be. Teams tracking and a chance to set up portable at a spot
you would not normally go to. Arrive at Nighthawk HQ around 3pm on Saturday,
then go to your checkpoint for a night of easy operating in the field tracking the progress 
of Nighthawk teams, with some in-flight entertainment as you observe youth members try to impress 
the Scout Leader judges with finesse in their activity.

- Tony 4 Radio Direction Finding Fun happening in Townsville
If you are in the vicinity of the Townsville Region on Saturday June 22nd from 1pm and want to get 
involved in a Foxhunt, or radio socialise in a nice part of Townsville then Tony VK4TJS wants to hear from you.

There will be activities for all family members to participate in during the Foxhunt and things will
