approx. 15km from the Flinders Hwy Heavy Vehicle intersection Chaapprox. 15km from the Flinders Hwy Heavy Vehicle intersection Charters Towers.

Trundle along the Flinders Highway towards Townsville. Slow down as you get into Sellheim.

Keep an eye out to the left and get ready to turn into the Roadhouse..

Upon arrival pull up near the Roadhouse and go in to find out where your site is.

The Park features powered and unpowered caravan and camp sites and it is planned

to set up the JMFD station in the unpowered paddock closest to Charters Towers.

The Roadhouse is renown for generous and yummy meals and is also well stocked for

basic grocery needs. Amenities are good and clean and there is good mobile internet

access via 4G/3G.

The Park is situated on the edge of what used to be the Sellheim Army Camp and the

memorial is within easy walking distance. The Burdekin River is a bit further away,

a short car ride gets you there really quick.

There are a number of nice high eucalypt trees available to support HF dipoles and the

site has all weather access. Shsite has all weather access. Should we be lucky enough to be marooned if the Burdekin River

floods then we will still be very well off.

Logging for the event will be done by a dude that can type using a 12V powered

netbook running the latest version of VKCL, there will be lots of antennae lofting

and tweaking, operating in a location that can be used what ever weather is happening

plus plenty of chances to kick back and socialise.

The traditional Saturday Night feedup at the Roadhouse will be on again - attendance

numbers needed.

Cost of a powered site with 2pob daily is $25

whilst the cost of an unpowered site with 2pob daily is $15

If you are after a powered site or cabin you need to book now to avoid the rush !

Hope to see you there - come rain or shine !

- WICEN NET

WICEN operators in Queensland hold a net every Sunday

The nets happen on

14183kHz from 8-00am (2200UTC)

7075kHz from 8-30am (2230UTC)

The net calls in regular stations and then invites new stations to call in.

If conditions are poor on 7MHz, net control might move to around 3600kHz

depending on how pliable the net operators are.

Mix it with othMix it with other WICEN ops and call in on the net !!

Note that a vote is currently underway on a proposal to shift the net

from 7075kHz to 7080kHz to prevent a clash with the new world wide FT8

assignment of 7075kHz.
