RAF MEMORIAL DAY GB0RAF - 6th JULY 2011
GB0RAF RAF Memorial Day Deerbolt Bernard Castle, County Durham DL12 8UN.
Operation will be on 80m SSB and on AM 3.625, the AM transmission will be
from a C12 set. QSL via RAFARS Bureau.  
RAFARS members will be assisted by members of the Bishop Auckland Radio
Amateurs Club. Staff from RAF Leeming will also be in support.
This is the 14th year that this event has been active.
A fly past by a aircraft from the B of B Memorial Flight has been 
confirmed. Just to put you in the picture, there are over eighty crash
sites within a radius of ten miles of Barnard Castle.

HMS COLLINGWOOD RNARS GB6COD - 4th JUNE 2011
The RNARS is pleased to announce that it is to run an SES during the Open
Day at HMS Collingwood Fareham PO14 1AS.
The station will be operational on all amateur bands 1.8MHz to 440MHZ
The HQRNARS Station will also be open to viewing from 0900 TO 1800 on the

CQ CQ GW RAFARS MEMBERS.
RAFARS will have a Stand at the Llandudno Radio Rally on the 29/30 Oct. It
will be held in the John Bright School, Llandudno LL30 1LF.

RAFARS ANNUAL DINNER AND AGM 2011
The Dinner will be held at the Grays Hotel, Telford TF3 4NA Fri 30th Sept.
The AGM will be held in the No.1 Radio School, DCAE Cosford WV7 3EX 
on Sat 1st Oct.
Cost of dinner is £24.00pp. Room rate: £58.00 (BB) Double (£50.00 Single).

OPERATION HOME GUARD 2011.
RAFARS, with the assistance of RSARS, will put on a Special Event Station
in support of the annual "Operation Home Guard" held in the village of
Ingleton on 1-3 July 2011. This is a 1940's re-enactment of the liberation
of the Ingleton twin town in Normandy. The callsign is not yet determined.
Anyone who is able to assist in setting up and running the station, please
get in touch with Roy g0tak@kencomp.net.

De-brief Sat 9 Apr 2011. Conditions fair. RAFARS Members worked on 80m
3.710 M0KIT G7BQM M0RGI G3AZW M0RBT GB2IWM all at 5/9.
29 Stations worked in all.
As no stations on 80m lot of time spent on 40m.
CQ CW on 3.567 at 1300A-1315 Nothing heard.
CQ CW DX 1200A 14.055 Short skip and Contest on.
Normally GB2RAF will be Operational every 2nd Sat of the Month. 
GB2RAF will not be operational on the Sat 11 June but will be operating
on the 18th June 2011 for International Museums Weekends Number 5101.

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION/SHUTTLES.
28 Jun Atlantis STS135 L/O 1048gmt to ISS  with logistics and return a 
defective pump.
Shuttle Atlantis  will visit the ISS for the last time.
That will be the very last of the Shuttles to visit the ISS after 30yrs.
The Soyuz TMA will then be visiting the ISS and I will report its visits 
or any other flights to the ISS. 
All Shuttle Flights are subject to delays from minutes to months.
If members wish to obtain ISS naked eye visual passes contact News Desk 
for times of visual passes.
