RAFARS CHRISTMAS CONTEST 4 DECEMBER 2011.
RAFARS Christmas Contest takes place on Sunday 4th December. It would be
good to see an increase in participation this year. The contest is not the
normal high speed exchange of reports but takes a more sedate pace, with
even a little chat and Christmas greetings. A chance to meet up with your
fellow members.
KE2EH Mike and Chris VE6CMV have informed News Desk that they will be QRV
on the DX Bands around the RAFARS frequencies for the Contest/Greetings.
Chris suggests around 28.350 at about 1600hrs.

also on the RAFARS Website.

BARAC RADIO RALLY 4 DECEMBER 2011.
There will be a RAFARS stall at the Bishop Auckland Radio Amateur Club
Annual Rally 04 Dec 2011. RAFARS Commodities will be on sale and a sign in
book will be available. Talk in will be on 145.550. The BARAC Rally is the
only rally in the north east of England with RAFARS representation.

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION (CITY IN THE SKY) AND RUSSIAN SOYUZ VISITS.
21 Dec Soyuz 29S L/O 1316GMT Manned spacecraft to the ISS with crew change
The module will remain on the ISS for 6 months providing an
emergency escape pod from the ISS Crew if ever required.
Jan 25 Soyuz Progress 46P Stores supply only to/from the ISS
30 Mar 2012 Soyuz 30S Manned Spacecraft to/from the ISS crew change.
25 Apr 2012 Soyuz P47 Stores Supply craft only to/from the ISS.
Note - All Soyuz lift off are from Baikonur Cosmodrome, in Kazakhstan.
All missions are subject to delays.
If there are any members who wish to obtain ISS naked eye visual passes
contact News Desk for times, Next evening sightings from 22 Dec for 7 days.
