RAFARS AGM RAF COSFORD 2009 SHORT REPORT.
Firstly the good news, once again the subscription is held at £11.00.
The society has received a bequest of 7000 euros from the will of Don
EI5IA
with the possibility of more when Don's estate is finally wound up.
The AGM was attended by 7 Council Members and 14 members that included 9
FRs.
The G2LR Trophy was won by Bob G4DDM for his work as Technical Manager, IT
Consultant and Historian. The FR Certificate was awarded to G0NVY.
A resume of the report about AOTA presented by G4DQP is printed below.
The AGM Dinner was attended by 24 and, on the Saturday, the ladies went to
Attingham Park National Trust. The Hotel was good and having the AGM at
the
No 1 Radio School was a bonus that brought back memories to some of us.

3/4 APRIL 2010 AOTA RAFARS EVENT AIRFIELDS/RAF STATIONS ON THE AIR.
At the AGM it was agreed to change AOTA to include past and present RAF
Stations. As well as the usual activations, it is proposed to hold an
annual
weekend event, the first on the 3rd/4th April 2010.
All that is required is for RAFARS FRs and members to put a station on the
air using your own callsign/P, a RAFARS Club call-sign/P or an SES
callsign
via Ofcom. A certificate will be issued (SAE please) to World Amateurs who
have worked 5 stations or more.
Co-ordination remains with Vince G4DQP who reports to Council via Tony
G0WFV our Projects Manager. So if you have an Airfield (AOTA) or an RAF
Station (open or closed down) near you and you intend to take part, please
contact Vince G4DQP (QTHR or <earlval@postmaster.co.uk> with AOTA in the
subject line). stating the intended activation location, callsign and,
especially, the date, if it is in addition to the proposed AOTA Weekend.
Please inform Newsdesk of your involvement and check the NLs/QRV Journal
and our web site for more up-to-date details..
With your full support, this could develop into a major annual event. So
please make a note in your diary.

RAFARS QRV JOURNAL.
Editor Roy, G0TAK - 2E1RAF requires articles for the next edition of QRV
with your stories and pictures of RAFARS Events or your own radio shack
etc.
E-mail your input to g0tak@kencomp.net or see QTHr in RAFARS QRZ.
Last date for copy is 11th January 2010.

AIR TEST.
QRV has a long tradition of No Advertising and I am not seeking to
override
that position at the moment. I see no reason however why a member who has,

after due deliberation, purchased a piece of equipment, or indeed made a
piece of kit for use in the hobby, from writing up an Air Test to let us
know what he/she thinks about that piece of equipment, how it works in a
particular situation, and the pitfalls to be avoided.
If anyone has the germ of such an idea, please let me know and I will
assist
you to get it published in the journal Roy g0tak@kencomp.net QRV Editor.
