24 Chilliwack, Mission and Abbotsford SAR members responded to rescue an 
injured ATV rider in the area of Norrish Creek in Mission. Subject was 
rescued from down a steep embankment and turned over to BCAS for transport 
to hospital.

9 North Shore Rescue members responded to search for a missing camper in 
the West Vancouver area near Westport and Nelson Creek. The subject was 
located alive and well and was brought out by SAR members.

COMMENTS

40 Surrey, CFV, Ridge Meadows and Coquitlam SAR members responded to 
locate a 75 year old female missing from her residence in Surrey. An 
extensive search of the area failed to locate the subject and SAR members 
were stood down pending further investigation by RCMP.

14 Comox Valley and Arrowsmith SAR members responded to rescue 4 adults 
and 12 children that had become ill while camping in Strathcona Park near 
Courtenay. Six subjects were transported to hospital by helicopter and the 
remainder of the campers were escorted out by the SAR team.

reported boater in distress on Okanagan Lake. A search of the lake failed 
to locate anyone requiring assistance and SAR was stood down.

6 Sunshine Coast SAR members were put on standby at Mixal Lake for a 
possible shoreline search after a vehicle went into the lake. SAR was 
stood down after police recovered the deceased driver from the vehicle and 
determined that further assistance would not be required.

of something floating in Skaha Lake. Nothing was located and they were

towed the craft back to shore.

COMMENTS

2 members Kelowna Fire Dept responded to a report of a kite surfer that 
had been down in the lake for quite some time. Fire crews responded out 
and found that he had been down in the water for a while. The wind had 
died down and he was trying to kick his way back to shore. Did not require 
assistance, therefore, they left him where he was and their 2 members 
returned.

that went over an embankment about 1 mile out of town on Highway 33. They 
were stood down on scene when the riders were not in need of a rope or 
high angle rescue.

8 Shuswap SAR members mustered to rescue a woman who was stranded on an 
Island in Scotch Creek. RCMP helicopter was able to pick the woman up off 
of the island and SAR team was stood down.

12 Pemberton and 6 Lillooet SAR members assisted RCMP to search for a 
female train passenger who fell from a trestle into Seton Creek. SAR 
volunteers were stood down by RCMP after an extensive search of both the 
river and shoreline failed to locate the subject.

4 Shuswap SAR members responded to a small lake near Pinantan Lake to 
assist the RCMP with a search for a missing fisherman whose boat was 
located floating on the lake. SAR members responded with a zodiac to 
support the RCMP dive team. The individual was located by the Dive Team, 
deceased,  and was turned over to Coroner.

COMMENTS

16 Surrey SAR responded to locate a missing 13 year old female in the 
Robson Park area. Volunteers searched the requested area but failed to 
locate the subject. The searchers were stood down pending further RCMP 
investigation.
