1 North Shore Rescue member was contacted regarding a snowboarder who was
reported overdue from the Cypress Mountain area. SAR was stood down prior
to responding as the individual was located at the Horseshoe Bay Ferry
terminal by the West Vancouver Police.

18 North Shore Rescue members were activated to search for a mentally
disabled individual missing since the evening of 09 Jan in the Lynn
Headwaters area. Coquitlam SAR were placed on standby for possible
assistance. RCMP Air 1 assisted with searching and a second helicopter was
used to transport personnel. The deceased subject was spotted from the
RCMP helicopter and was long-lined out. Subject was turned over to the
Coroner.

conducted a search for a male suffering from dementia who was last seen at
his residence in Royston on 09 Jan. No evidence of the subject was located
and the RCMP stood down the search on 11 Jan pending further investigation.

out to search for a snowboarder reported missing after going out-of-bounds
near Cypress Mountain. The snowboarder was located uninjured at the 700
metre level of Strachan Gully and was escorted down the hill during the
night.

30 All Islands SAR members, Parks staff and Masset Rangers responded to
search for two missing males who failed to return from a surveying trip
west of Queen Charlotte City. They were located in good condition on 13
Jan after being spotted from a helicopter hired by their forest company.
They had been overcome by darkness and had made camp.

6 Whistler SAR members assisted in searching for two skiers that had been
overdue since the evening of 12 Jan on the south side of Whistler
Mountain. The two missing skiers were found in fairly good condition. One
was slightly hypothermic with some frostbite.

14 Whistler SAR members conducted a search for a Korean tourist who went
missing while snowboarding on Whistler Mountain. He was last seen on 12
Jan. SAR members located his snowboard and some personal items and then a
dive team was brought in and recovered his body from Cheakamus Lake on 15
Jan.
