At the risk of restarting the big argument. The DTT channel 12 on
"Freeview" is called "UK History". The stuff it puts out has been put out
on other channels before but they have just stated categorically that
Sputnik was launced on October 1st 1957 and stayed in orbit for 15 days,
The Americans only had a rather inaccurate 500 mile range, in fact one of
their rockets, a modified V2, landed in Mexico, quite embarrassing,Hi!
The Russian system had a vey accurate 5000 mile range. This is what made
the Americans nervous. They couldn't even track their own rockets, let
alone the Russian ones.
The DTT programmes are repeated ad nauseam, so there is still time for UK
viewers to watch the programme.
