Otago Branch NZART records with regret the passing of James Alexander MASON
ZL4IE peacefully at Dunedin Hospital on 27th January 2004 after spending a
period in the St.Barnabas Home.
Alex was licensed in 1946 and from the start was a keen CW man, preferring
that mode to any other. Later in life he took on the challenge of 2 metres
keeping in touch on the Branch Net each Sunday evening.
Alex was a keen supporter of our club and regular attender at our Oldtimers
Afternoons. He was one of the gentlemen of amateur radio and will be missed
by all who had contact with him.
