Hi Pete and all,
Shades of Grand Funk, I'm Your Captain! Interestingly enough I received
the very same viral e-mail about the cruise ship and Somali pirates but
at the helm of the USS New Jersey I'm much better armed. Unfortunately my
ship doesn't have such luxurious acomodations and not quite enough living
space for passengers. Then they'd get bored shooting fish in a barrel,
they might get a kick out of the Bofors guns and the Phalanx but what's
the challenge with 16" turret cannons? Besides, just the sight of this
monster would scare those pirates all the way to Kenya!
I'm not surprised, there have been real Pirates Of The Carribean since
Columbus discovered the islands only the various tourism boards try to
keep it hush hush. Well, wouldn't you if your island depended so heavily
on tourism? We don't run an ad campaign on the Philadelphia and New York
TV stations, when summer comes and the Bennies invade we catch them by
surprise. Our cops know all the cherry spots, they don't. (;->)
Yup, good to see ol' Bobbo back, he keeps the gunnery crew busy and the
occasional KABOOM attracts attention so the old rust bucket is back in
business. I'm still working on WEIRDO, he finally broke down and told me
his lack of confidence stems from his software, he's not BBS shy. I
discovered a conflict between his editor and Telnet client, I gave him a
few hints in the right direction so sooner or later he'll work it out.
