Its not a load of crap. The report is somewhat accurate.
Ok , dr OM Andy , I understand your feelings. I understand
the machinery.
Read it again. Well , a bit of "Sensationalism" What are
Reporters here for.?
Statistics , if we belive them , show that more "Golfers"
are killed by lighning than other cases. The report to
Cellphone deads, Well maybe 3 - 4 ? each.
Probailities? Well , why not. If you ever -I have - Seen HV
demonstrations of megavolts , youll note that any metall
anywhere will alter the course of lightening.
Absolutely.
In the case of them cellphone Teenagers. 2? 3? no measurable
difference to natural happenings. All else is :
Sensationalism, the upfront - in case there is no
Earth-Quake or Plane Crash or else...nothing special.
Why getting in such a uproar? Dr OM Andy?
Here in South Africa we have - every year a number of deaths
of lighting strikes. A number of them are Golfers. Today a 2
or 3 added teenagers who
stood oud in the fields - as we say- get their natural
shake.
Nothing uncommon here.
Well , dr OM , read between the lines. Reporters have to
make a living. Might they all get hit by lightning.! But ,
if you've ever followed a case of a direct hit , youll note
that metallic parts of any sort play a role.
Not that it matters practically. You can't get rid of your
tooth fillings. Right. Not that it matters. You might get
rid of a Cell Phone. You might get lowering your chances by
a fraction of a mil of a percent. What do they teenagers
have to do out in the storm in the foist place?
Democracy and Indusrialism and such. Think = probably more
Hams died while fixing their tube Pa or came with their
antenna project to close to HV lines.
Whoa... the Teenager who gets hit while Cellphoning...how
many are gone up to date...Half a Dozen?
Why ,my dear Why Andy get so upset. Well , we should give
them some Umbrellas to go with?
The one with the red dot? Tell lightning where to go -
preferably.
I have sen lighting here in Soth Africa . I have seen heavy
Lightning in europe. I am still here. Then there where no
cell phones. Then I didn' use the ordinary ones. Then I did
care. Still do.
Youre right, insomatch that "People" get not wiser. Let them
learn the "hard" Way. WE DID !

Intelligence of MAN? Computers help. The interweb helps in
disributing , and not forgetting the politicians. Where
would we be without them? EDEN?
Now , comes to think of it - one of the "THE" Computers
was/is called "APPLE". Makes you think , doesnt it. Aggh
forget it. Its winter here. Little lightning for month to
go...Cellphones aplenty.
