Many of us, in us homes/cars/ships/holiday-homes,
depend on the WiFi (Wireless Fidelity link) and as i
sit typing this on my laptop i depend on a WiFi Tower
about 200yds distant at about 50ft to rx my tx and
re-tx onward to destination.

It is claimed by some that WiFi is not RF(Radio
Frequency) but if this be true why is WiFi now forging
ahead sat to sat in Ghz where VoIP is coming into its
own with such items as Echolink. When mobile many of us
can take advantage of *Open Zones* to send us message
and pick up email etc.

Many of us are moving with the times but we linger on
hf for the cw contact..

Of course many of us know WiFi via us routers in the
home where we enter our own WEP key and get on but we
can still, in the wilderness, be in range of a tower
and take full advantage of free RF access.
