Hello all WW Amateurs.

I have just received my first SPs for 2004, so I thought I would celebrate!
It seems that my recent Hard Drive problems have been sent to annoy all at
WW instead of confining my misery to VKNET ( the 'Great South Land', and
including the 'Land of the Long White Cloud'). We VKs see bulletins sent to
other networks, and apparently ours are considered worthy to WW readers!
Nothing wrong with that; I would like to think we still talk to the world
as we did in 1948. Although some chit-chat is best kept local, there is
usually enough topical content in what others have to say to make bulletins
to WW interesting. Even old 'two by four' seems to have changed his 'timbre'
and now uses a 'three by one and a half'. (The two inch nails that stick out
at the end are a bit vicious though) :-(
Some time ago, a year or two, we were able to discuss matters of interest,
and ask for help with a good chance of a normal polite reply. I decided to
send to VKNET to avoid potential trouble spots at WW. I got many helpful
replies from twelve callsigns, both SBs and SPs, from VK and ZL. All received
was friendly advice and useful information about computer Hard Drives.
I was pleased to get the bulletin and an SP from Jeff, G4XNH, about PC HDs.
My thanks again, Jeff. Only seeing some of the action would be confusing!
But isn't this why we are using Amateur radio? Yes, of course it is; and it
is the best way I have of getting help and commenting on radio related
matters. Keep the bulletins going and enjoy what we have on offer while we
can. We have a good thing going, and it costs us 'peanuts'!
I have just sent another HD query to VKNET, and I hope you all see it at WW.
