That's 'cos I wasn't singing - I was whinging!

(It's 8.40am here, I'm about to go up the village, but I'll need the
headlights on. Grrrrrrr.

I think it was Barbara Streisand who has a hit with On a Clear Day, but
it's been covered by many people, including I think, Frank Sinatra. I
just checked to see if it was Barbara Streisand, and apparently on her
album, she introduced the song with some dialogue:

Barbra Streisand - On A Clear Day (You Can See Forever) Lyrics
[Speaking]

"Why, Daisy, you're a bl*ody miracle...
Could anyone among us have an inkling or a clue
What magic feats or wizardry and voodoo you can do?"
And who would ever guess what powers you possess
And who would not be stunned to see you prove
There's more to us than surgeons can remove
So much more than we ever knew
So much more were we born to do
Should you draw back the curtain, this I am certain
You'll be impressed with you
Well, so long doctor, see you later!

Strewth, it sounds like she was ready for the men in white coats!
"So long Doctor I'll see you later?" No doubt about it dearie:-)

>More smiling...

Yes, a good start to the day!

I'm not sure who penned the quote "Smile and the world smiles with you -
cry and you cry alone". It's often dispensed to people who are on a real
downer.

I guess it's meant to pull them round, as in "snap out of it, pull
yourself together, it's all in your mind, aren't you getting tired of all
this me-me-me stuff, I thought you were stronger than that - no one ever
said life was fair."

Just what they need if they've had a bereavement or whatever.

As to the world smiling with us, when we smile at someone, we never know
whether they're laughing with us, or at us, but I do it anyway - I fugure
that it's better than being grumpy.
