Hi All xfbb users,

I've posted this to both the xfbb mailing list, and packet.

This intended for users of m_filter by Stewart, G0LGS.

I've used m_filter for many years but recently I had this feeling it wasn't
catching things it should have caught.

A message came through here that contained an inappropriate word, a word
that m_filter should have acted on, and killed the mail.

My initial thought was m_filter wasn't working but a check of the log
showed entries, but only for callsigns to be held - those stations that
want to send three year old mail.

m_filter is supposed to respond to the following ....

; +word match at begining of word
; word+ match at end of word
; +word+ match whole word only

The leading + was causing the problem. As soon as I removed the leading +
m_filter started working again.

I suspect the problem is due to a newer version of Perl.

m_filter was written for Perl 5.00 but my installed version is 5.8.8

Perhaps someone with Perl familiarity might like to comment in this regard.

Cheers ... Ray vk2tv
