Subj: Dynamic routing ?

Last weekend I had a marathon keyboard to keyboard qso with G4APL and G0SYR
(about 8 hrs??) who are Xrouter fans,(I'm still recovering!) and I seem to
recall that one of the advantages of Xrouter is the ability to provide dynamic
routing, so that routing from points A to B can be "Restructured"
automatically with user or sysop intervention.

I guess this is rather like the APRS/UIVIEW system but probably more
intelligent ?

[Sorry I have yet to find the time to read the extremely comprehensive
user guide to Xrouter]

If this is the case, then surely that would mean EVERYBODY who runs Xrouter
will be actively participating in the infrastructure of the packet network
regardless of the capabilities of each station ?

That sounds like a good idea to me, which would mean that the use of Xrouter
as a "front end" to individual packet users is preferable to systems
such as BPQ ?

Comments ?
