-- GBR delivery survey
Previous summaries have had slightly patchy delivery. Even if you don't read the summary, we would appreciate some feeback on routing.

A Google form has been set up to survey where the message ends up and how it gets there. If you could follow the link below and fill in the survey with your call, the BBS the message got delivered to and the routing information that gets added on its way, we would be very grateful.

The net ran from 20:00 to 21:04

-- Attendees
GM0CQV - Brendan - Net Control
MM3XIA - Iain
MM0UHR - Chris
GM7MWL - Hugh
GM0NRT - Bill
GM0BKS - Graeme

-- QtSoundModem is in apt repository
Some feedback from a previous summary discussing QtSoundModem was to note that as well as linbpq in the apt respository, QtSoundModem is there and ready for use. Other packages are also in that repository so it's worth having a look to see what is available.

-- New nodes under construction
More nodes are being built with leads and parts all obtained and ready to go. There may well be a new node in Scotland over the weekend.

-- Tiny-2 discussion
There was significant discussion of the Tiny-2 TNCs.

After last week's discussion service manuals were found and the volume control potentiometer has been located which should help the problem of a lack of signal deviation.

Another attendee was having trouble with their USB connection to their Tiny-2. Signals seem to be coming from the device to the computer without issue but signals to the device seem to be getting ignored. Multiple cables have been tested with the same problem.

One attendee reported cable issues that were resolved with a null-modem adapter but that does not seem to be the issue at hand.

The only outstanding recommendation was to test the cables between two computers so echoing of signals wasn't needed to know if it is working.

-- Several new radios have been obtained with setup difficulties
A Motorola GM340 is having issues with the accessory port not working. The open question was if that needed setting up, but nobody knew for sure. Other GM340s have simply worked.

Another attendee has a Motorola DM3400 that can receive but not transmit. The issue is the PTT not working even though it did in the past. There was a suggestion that a similar issue was encountered when a Windows update broke the USB device driver.

A YouTube video demonstrating using the native data modes on some Motorola radios for packet was found but getting the radios set up has not worked yet. We aren't sure if the devices are compatible in the same way.

An ICom 7100 has been tested as well, but has the opposite problem of transmitting but the receive isn't working.

Another attendee has an Ascom SE550 (Condor 3000) which has been adapted from 70cm to 4m but while it has a data port and promising data modes, actual user manuals are hard to find.

Anyone with feedback that could help with this would be appreciated

-- Satellite Packet
An attendee has been experimenting with 1200BPKS Packet on QO-100 with great success. It seems the RX and TX frequencies have to be more accurate than SSB, but once it is dialled in it works well.

People are welcome to join the net next week. If you don't have DMR but
want to put in a topic for discussion, you can reply to this bulletin
or to me directly and we'll add it to next week.

If you happen to know someone who is interested in packet but isn't
set up far enough to get this message, please pass it along and let them
know about the net.
