1a. FBB installation

I have figured out that the installation of WinFBB seems to only work
when WinFBB is installed in the default location under C:\Program Files
Just thought other newbies might save time knowing this.
I already had RMS Packet working with BPQ,
and now have added FBB.
So, now I have WinFBB working with BPQ.
What useful things will I do with it?
That will take some thought.
Howard.

In WinFBB, what should I put into "H-Route"?
It currently contains "EAMU.ESP.EU"

Howard
As I mentioned before you should place the FBB as the first application as
it doesn't require
AGWPE, WinFbb 7.01 should go under Programs Files\ root, how ever the
BPQ.DLL in driver
Section should find BPQ32 regardless where FBB is placed, this is assuming
you are still
Using 7.01A and not the 7.00 Series. Please be sure to allocate FBB as the
first Port selection
In any FBB, if 7.00 series is used the MUX needs to be set for the number
of
Ports available
In BPQ, if 4 ports including AXIP, MUX 4, if not a user may receive a BUSY
for the BPQ Switch.
There are a couple of reasons that a user may receive Busy from BPQ, the
most common
Is BPQ is not hearing the node via AXIP, I only bring this subject up as I
saw the question
Come up a couple of Weeks a go.

Sorry for the delay in my response. I travel and was on the road. The
echo is when anyone telnets or connects via VHF RF by BPQ. I am
running WinFbb 7.01-35 and the newest version of BPQ. It all works
well but everyone is stated that when they connect it echos. I tried
to have another BBS forward to me but the echoing causes problems and
the forward fails. The TNC is a AEA PK-232 I tried a MFJ 1278 and a
KPC3 all echo. I stopped the bpq and only telnet and that echo to.
That is the problem if you need further details please advise.
Thanks
Stephen

3. Having problems getting BPQ to recognize KAM + (I think)

OK, I have tried all the conventional things.. I have my own
BPQCFG.txt and have compiled it. When I bring up the terminal program
and try connecting to the port the radio is on I see connect messages
on the transmit screen but it never keys the transmitter..
I think for I have been tracking the wrong problem for several days
now.. thinking it was my bpqcfg files. Sooo I decided to compile
several bpqcfg files that others had sent me and with the transmitter
in a dummy load, issued the normal C 2 and callsign. Again the same
thing no transmitter key.
So now I am thinking that it is a TNC problem. I am using a KAM Plus
that is working correctly with normal packet programs including (WL2K)
RMS Packet. I find myself wondering if the TNC is going into KISS
mode correctly.
Now I have a question regarding setting the TNC up in BPQ. Is there
some TNC specific command in BPQ that tells it what type of TNC is
being used or is it just generic TNC commands that determine which
TNC is being used.
Perplexed
Jim
