Hi Ian and all,

Don't expect my version to be accurate, been a long time since high
school. (;->) In any case it seems you mixed 1776 with 1812 but that's
OK, the US has been at war since its foundation. (Damn Yankees!)

Oh we learned right, at LEAST half sided with the Crown making it
difficult to form a militia and we had a rag tag bunch of misfits until
the Prussian whose name I can't recall at the moment whipped Washington's
troops into shape. No, he wasn't quite the glorious general at least at
first losing more battles than he won but it's the end game that counts.

It may stand to reason little was said about the French Revolution aside
from that horrible mis-quote of Marie Antoinette, there's a difference
between bread and cake, you know the words. Napoleon was quite formidable
and we refer to him as Empiror, did pretty well until Wellington came
along. In case you guys don't know, those famous battles are taught at
West Point and Patton learned them well. That's what made him a great
general if not a bit untamed and had a bad habit of throwing bodies at
the enemy.

Oh the French... hmmm. The Metric system is just fine for nice even
calculation but not when it comes to the Earth and our solar system where
the English system doesn't leave you with a string of decimals. Like many
ancient systems it's based on 12 which fits like hand in glove, the
ancients knew this all along. Then along came Metrics and when it ended
up confused with the English system design failed and one of the
planetary probes misfired and crashed. BLAME CANADA! (Off side reference
to Quebec and South Park.) The prime meridian through Paris? It's been a
long time since Napoleon left the planet. GMT+1 (;->) so I guess I'm
PMT+6 if you want to split hairs. Now I have to completely rewrite Sun
Clock and it was SO adequate until now...
