Hi,

Even with a simulation coming up with the output level of a typical sine
wave oscillator is pretty tough.

Most approaches wind up being

    1) I know this current (or voltage) is = X
    2) I simulate the circuit
    3) I adjust the simulation so the current (or voltage)  is right
    4) I read off the output when the simulation is running that way

The problem is that if you don't already know the magic current or voltage
level you are stuck. Knowing the magic level pretty much implies that you
have the circuit running in front of you.
