At the time of writing I haven't tried your suggestion because I'm not
so convinced that it will work.

The IC703 may look like a 706 but then I have just looked inside a
706Mk1 and a MK3G - different PCB entirely and no doubt a different
animal.

However can anyone confirm HUD's info ?

By the way (changing the subject) I have just discovered on my Mk2G
that it is possible to have the RF/SQL control set up so that:

* when the control it turned counter clockwise it acts as an RF gain
control, and when advanced clockwise it becomes an all mode squelch.

At 12 o'clock setting it is a neutral control.

The setting is in the Power ON+holding LOCK button.

Use the rf.sql function [that's how it looks on the LCD display].

I wonder if the 703 is the same.
