Hello , especially Andy

Mhh, and as Tony said it might be different in different
parts of the world.
South Africa imported a lot of clothing from China, cheap -
much cheaper than locally made garments - of good quality
and thousands lost their jobs, mainly in the Capetown area.
Now China has agreed to reduce these imports , they will try
to keep on good standing with imports of other goods.
I bought a Battery carrier ( 12V for starting up cars) which
was sold in a shop that sells goods from Germany. And , as
you would expect then , it is of good quality.
A LED lamp I bought failed shortly after little use. the
internal integrated switch broke. Taking the lamp apart
revealed that the spring metall used broke. The rest of the
lamp was of reasonable quality. But , of course it is now
unusable.
There is just now a flood of new brands electro-tools. I
dont need one , but I suspect they are made in China. I will
have a look-see and write a report.

( And as usual here in South Africa, the protesting masses
which revolted against closure of their clothing factories
where cought wearing T-Shirts with ANC ( the leading SA
party ) slogans which where made in china...)
