Well I assume you are actually refering to Kirchoffs laws unless I missed
something.

But in defense of the doctors I think that they have been told about the
ionising effect on the air around the mobile phone of the transmissions made
by them and that this reduces the resistance of the air and as lightning will
take the path of lowest resistance will increase the chance of a lightning
strike. or so that is what I have read in the past.
