I'm just curious about the useage of these bands.

I've seen 220Mhz FM handhelds but I wonder how the band gets used generally.

Also I've never seen any rigs with the 902Mhz band and a quick browse 
through some old QST's hasn't turned up any information or adverts for 
gear.

I wonder if someomne could give a synopsis of the band ?
